On September 14th, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers from the East Precinct responded to a call of shots fired in the area of 23rd Avenue South and South Jackson Street. When officers arrived they were told someone had been shot and was down at that location. The scene was secured and the Seattle Fire Department responded to provide medical aid for a minor grazing bullet wound to the victim’s back. The victim, a 42 year-old male, was then transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. After initial interviews, it was determined that the shooting actually had occurred at 22nd Avenue South and South Main. Officers were able to locate the crime scene and began to interview possible witnesses. It appears that the suspect and the victim were in some sort of disturbance just prior to the shooting. There is no suspect description other than male. The Gang Unit responded to the scene and the detectives will conduct the follow up investigation.
