On October 15th, at approximately 4:30 p.m., West Precinct officers responded to a call of a bank robbery in the 1000 Block of 4th Avenue. The employees told officers that a white male, approximately 6′ tall, in his late 50’s with a long bushy gray beard, wearing a long dark coat and a fisherman’s knit hat, had entered the bank and began acting suspiciously. Employees and customers noticed the man’s unusual behavior. After a few moments, the man approached the teller and gave the teller a note demanding money. The suspect then left the bank before getting any money. Photos of the suspect were provided to officers, and at approximately 7:00 p.m., the suspect was located by officers in the 600 Block of Yesler. The 62-year old man was positively identified as the suspect at the bank and was arrested. He was interviewed by Robbery detectives and later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
