Robbery suspect at large

On 10/22/09, at approximately 8:00 p.m., two employees at a business in the 400 block of Massachusetts St.,had a delivery vehicle at the loading dock. A male wearing a bandanna covering his face entered the building from the loading dock.

The male pointed a handgun at the 2 employees and demanded money from them. He stole cash from one victim and then pepper sprayed him twice. The suspect then took a wallet and cell phone from the second victim.

The suspect fled south along the Metro route before going west. Investigating officers contacted a transient who was camped nearby, he reported seeing the suspect holding the gun on the two victims and robbing them.

This witness reported that the suspect fled when he heard sirens. It is believed that these sirens were the result of Washington State patrol activity on nearby I-5. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
