On December 14th, at approximately 11:00 pm, a man was walking southbound on Rainier Avenue South. He noticed that he was being followed by another man, who appeared to be muttering unintelligibly in Spanish. When the victim turned around to confront the suspect, the suspect stabbed the victim in the abdomen. The suspect then took off running southbound on Rainier where he was subsequently stopped by officers at Rainier Ave. South and South Kenyon Street. The victim got onto a bus heading northbound. The bus driver called for the Seattle Fire Department as he stopped the bus at Rainier and South Edmunds. A ten inch butcher knife was recovered from the suspect. The victim, a 52 year-old man, was treated at the scene by SFD and then transported to Harborview Medical Center with a non life-threatening stab wound. The suspect, a 25 year-old man, was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault.
