Homicide in Leschi, suspect arrested

On December 16th, at approximately 9 :52 pm, East Precinct officers responded to a 911 call from a man stating that he had just stabbed his girlfriend.  The suspect told the 911 operator that his girlfriend was in their apartment in the 300 Block of  28th Avenue South.  Patrol officers, along with on-duty SWAT officers, responded to the apartment where they located a 49 year-old female with a life-threatening stab wound to her body.  The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.  She died at the hospital from her injuries.  Gang detectives responded to the payphone in the 2300 Block of South Jackson and took the 53 year-old male suspect into custody.  The suspect was interviewed by Homicide detectives and later booked into the King County Jail for Investigtion of Homicide (Domestic Violence).  Homicide detectives will conduct the follow up investigation.
