Four juveniles arrested for street robbery

On January 5th at around 8:11 p.m.,  a lone male pedestrian walking in the 2800 block of 30th Avenue South was confronted by four youth.  The suspects broke into two groups and flanked the male victim.  One of the suspects approached the victim and asked for the time.  The victim rolled up his sleeves to show his empty wrists and said he didn’t know what time it was.  The suspects then asked for a dollar or some marijuana.  The victim again repeated he had no money and nothing on him.  The four suspects then attacked, forcibly taking the victim’s hat and coat before fleeing the area.  The victim immediately called 911.

The descriptions of the suspects was broadcast to all responding South Precinct officers.  A short time later an officer observed four possible suspects in the 8700 block of Rainier Avenue South, approximately 60 blocks away from the original crime.  Officers transported the victim to the new location and he positively identified all four suspects as the ones that robbed him.  All of the suspects were juveniles, ages thirteen, fourteen and two at fifteen.  All four were booked into the Youth Service Center for Investigation of Robbery.
