Update on last night’s shooting event

There is additional information on the shooting that occurred last night in the 7800 block of Rainier Avenue South at 6:30 pm.  After the victim, a 16 year-old male, was transported to the hospital, Gang Unit detectives had an opportunity to interview him.  He admitted to detectives that a friend was showing off a small caliber pistol to a group of friends when the gun went off accidentally, striking him in the lower leg.  Everyone then fled the scene.  This incident is being investigated by Gang Unit detectives.
