On February 2nd at approximately 11:00 pm, South Precinct officers responded to a 911 call from the clerk of a mini-mart in the 7900 Block of Renton Avenue South. The clerk stated that he had just been robbed at gunpoint by three males. Officers arrived and set up containment for K9. The victim was able to give officers just a general description of the suspects, and several people in the area were stoppped by police, but the victim could not positively identify them. K9 conducted a search of the area but could not locate the suspects. During the investigation, officers were able to view the security camera video and get a much better, detailed description of the three suspects that committed the robbery. After the description was broadcast two officers recalled seeing a possible suspect enter an apartment complex in the 8700 Block of Rainier Avenue South on their way to the robbery call, so they staked out the complex. After a short while four males came out of the complex and attempted to board a Metro bus. Three of the males matched the physical description of the suspects on the video so they were stopped and detained. The three suspects, two adults and one juvenile male, were positively identified by the victim and a .380 handgun was located on one of the suspects. All three suspects were arrested and booked, 2 into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery, and the juvenile male into the Youth Services Center.
