On February 25th at approximately 9:01 p.m. officers responded to a 911 call of a stabbing in the 2800 block of Rainier Avenue South. Preliminary investigation indicates that the male suspect and male victim are known to each other. The two men got into a verbal confrontation earlier at the same location and separated. The victim returned to the location and was standing on the sidewalk. The suspect approached the victim and the two men acknowledged each other. Without warning, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the neck. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.
SFD medics responded to the scene and transported the 35-year-old male victim to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Responding officers located the suspect approximately half a block away from the scene of the stabbing. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. The suspect, a 52-year-old male, was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault.
