Attempted domestic violence kidnapping thwarted by police

On May 3rd at approximately 11:18 PM, South Precinct officers responded to a 911 call in the 3900 Block of South Angeline Street.  The call stated that a man was yelling and banging on the front door of the residence and that the man was yelling that he was going to “kick the in the door.”  The suspect, a 41 year old man, kicked in the door and entered the house.  He was looking for his ex-girlfriend who was hiding in a bedroom.  The suspect grabbed the woman and pulled her out of the house by her hair, despite her protests.  The suspect put the victim in his truck and began driving away as officers arrived.  Officers were able to stop the truck several blocks away at 37th Avenue South and South Andover Street.  The suspect was uncooperative with officers and needed the assistance of a police K9 to get him to comply.  He was then taken into custody without further incident.  The suspect was treated at the hospital for his injuries and then later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Kidnapping (Domestic Violence) and Investigation of Burglary (DV).  The victim was rescued from the truck by officers and gave officers a statement.  This is an on-going investigation.
