Shots fired, man struck in leg in South Seattle

On June 5th, at approximately 4:00 AM, South Precinct officers responded to a call of shots fired and a person down near the intersection of Martin Luthter King Jr. Way South and South Director Street.  Officers arrived at the scene and spoke with several people who stated that they did not see anything.  Officers located two parked vehicles that had several bullet holes and shattered windows.  At approximately 4:30 AM, officers received information that a victim with a gunshot wound to his leg had arrived at the hospital.  The victim told officers that he had been sitting in his friend’s parked car at that location earlier when he heard shots fired.  He stated that he ducked down in the seat and that’s when he felt pain in his leg.  The 20 year old man told officers that after he was hit in the leg he ran from the parked car and flagged down a passing car to take him to the hospital.  Officers recovered numerous spent casings at the scene.  Officers continue to investigate.
