On August 11th at approximately 5:57 p.m. officers responded to 911 calls of a man shot in the 6700 block of East Marginal Way South. Officers arrived and located an adult male victim in his 30’s who appeared to have sustained gunshot wounds to his head and neck. SFD medics responded to the scene and subsequently transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The victim was seen running from an older white van (the suspect vehicle) in the 6700 block of East Marginal Way South as the van sped off northbound. Another male subject was also seen running northbound from the van. That additional subject and the suspect vehicle both remain at large. Officers and K-9 units conducted an extensive area search for the suspect(s) however, they remain at large.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting and the number of subjects involved is unknown at this time. Homicide/Assault detectives responded to the scene and continue to actively investigate.
Both northbound and southbound lanes of East Marginal Way South were closed down from Corson Avenue South to South River Street for approximately two hours while detectives collected evidence and processed the scene. As of 8:12 p.m. East Marginal Way South is back open to all traffic.
Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identities or whereabouts of the suspect(s) is asked to call 911 or Seattle Police immediately and refer to this incident.
