Necklace robber captured

On August 27th at 4:50 p.m., the victim  was walking in the 4600 block of S. Holden when she was confronted by the suspect. The suspect grabbed a gold necklace from the victim’s neck and ran off.

A witness observed the suspect leave the scene in a Green Malibu and provided a license plate to officers.  On August 30th at 4:39 p.m., another victim was walking in the area of Sturgus & S. Judkins when she was confronted by a similarly described suspect. He approached the victim from behind and demanded the necklace she was wearing.

The victim attempted to hold onto her necklace, but the suspect grabbed it off her neck and fled. He was seen getting into the same suspect vehicle and fleeing the scene. In both incidents, numerous units responded to the scene, but the suspect(s) or vehicle could not be located.

Information was developed by detectives during the on-going investigation which led to the identity of suspect and the associated vehicle. Detectives issued a wanted bulletin for the suspect. 

On September 6th at 11:30 p.m., Snohomish County PD stopped the car and arrested the suspect at the MuCullom Park & Ride in Everett. The Robbery Unit was contacted and responded. Detectives took custody of the suspect and the suspect’s vehicle. 

The suspect was transported to the Robbery Office for processing. He was later booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.

For the past few months, there have been several necklace thefts/robberies from Asian females in the south end and it is believed that several groups of suspects are responsible. The investigation continues.
