Review of operations at SPD Range

Seattle Police Department Statement
Review of operations at Seattle Police Range

On Monday, September 27th, the Seattle Police Department became aware of bullet damage to a parked car in the 3300 block of S Norfolk Street.  This area is just north of the Seattle Police Range located at 11030 E Marginal Way S.

We are investigating the possibility of whether the bullet that caused the damage originated from our facility.  CSI detectives responded to the location of the damaged vehicle to process the scene and collect evidence.  This investigation remains ongoing.

Out of an abundance of caution, all operations on the north facing shooting ranges have been halted.  Furthermore, firearms training activities at the Seattle Police Range are being reviewed for safety purposes.

Range personnel are currently taking measures to assess and accommodate the training needs of our own department as well as that of the numerous other agencies that rely on the Seattle Police Range for firearms training.
