On December 6th at approximately 12:51 p.m. officers responded to the 900 block of NE 65th Street for a 911 report of a domestic violence disturbance. The 45-year-old female suspect, the girlfriend of the 38-year-old male victim, was reportedly tearing up the victim’s residence. The victim also reported that the suspect was armed with a shotgun and had threatened him. The victim left the residence prior to the arrival of responding officers. After responding officers had set up containment around the residence, two more adult males and one adult female came outside. Nobody who had been inside the residence had been injured.
SWAT team officers and negotiators responded to the scene and attempted to gain the suspect’s peaceful surrender. At approximately 4:31 p.m. the suspect walked outside and was taken into custody without further incident. The SWAT team made entry into the residence and recovered a shotgun. They also discovered an adult male and an adult female in the basement. Subsequent investigation indicated that the two subjects in the basement were not involved with the disturbance above them. No shots were fired throughout the incident and nobody was injured.
The suspect was booked into the King County Jail for Domestic Violence Threats.
