On 1/9/11, at approximately 0531 a.m., a Black Buick Sedan was traveling W/B down a large hill on SW Charlestown St approaching 47 Ave SW, when the driver lost control of his vehicle and struck a Utility Pole.
The force of the impact cause the Utility Pole to be sheared off of its base causing a power outage in the area.
Seattle Fire Dept responded to the scene and transported the driver and the passenger of the Buick to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) for injuries that they sustained from the collision. Both the driver and the passenger were admitted to HMC with life threatening injuries.
The car involved in the collision was impounded with a hold for the Traffic Collision Investigators. The investigation continues.
