Robbers arrested, stolen purse returned

On February 3rd at around 11:32 p.m., South Precinct patrol officers responded to a report of a strong arm robbery in the 3900 block of S Othello Street.  The adult female victim and her boyfriend were just leaving a grocery store when they were accosted by three suspects demanding money.  The victim finally acquiesced to the suspects’ demands.  No sooner did she open her purse when one of them grabbed it and forcibly took it from her.  The suspects ran away on foot.  The woman and her boyfriend gave chase while calling 911.

Quickly responding officers managed to capture two of the fleeing suspects.  The third suspect disappeared on foot.  A K9 track was initiated and the King County Sheriff’s Office Guardian 1 helicopter provided assistance.  The third suspect was finally arrested after a successful dog track led officers to his hiding place.  The victim’s purse was recovered along the path of the pursuit and returned to her.  All three suspects were arrested for Investigation of Robbery.  Two of the suspects were booked into King County Jail and the third was booked into Youth Service Center.
