All in a day’s work

The Aggressive Driver Response Team (ADRT) regularly conducts speed enforcement patrols city-wide in accordance with the Traffic Unit’s mission to promote traffic safety through the vigorous enforcement of city and state traffic laws.

During the course of patrol operations today, an ADRT officer stopped a driver for traveling 78 mph in a 50 mph zone southbound in the 2400 block of Highway 99.  He stopped another driver traveling 65 mph in a 40 mph zone northbound in the 500 block of Aurora Avenue North.  Both drivers had no proof of insurance.

Another ADRT officer stopped a driver traveling 76 mph in a 45 mph zone westbound on the West Seattle Bridge who was also weaving in and out of traffic.  The driver had two small children in the car, a five-year-old and an eight-year-old.  The driver said he was late getting his kids to school.  He was cited for Negligent Driving in the 2nd Degree.

Aggressive drivers beware!  These enforcement operations occur frequently!
