Man high on drugs causes property damage to North Seattle home

On March 1st, at approximately 10:50 PM, North Precinct officers were dispatched to a disturbance at a residence in the 2000 Block of NE 105th Street.  The caller told dispatchers that a naked man was on his front porch “growling like a dog.”

Officers arrived and contacted the witnesses who indictated that the suspect was now in the front yard.  Officers contacted the naked man, who was clearly under the influence of narcotics.  The man continued to scream that he was “the devil” and that “everyone was going to die.”  Officers attempted to engage the suspect in conversation, but the suspect turned and ran toward the front entry way of the house which is enclosed by several glass windows.

Officers gave the suspect several orders to stop and lay down.  The suspect continued to scream and then began punching the windows, breaking them, cutting himself.  At that point, officers were forced to use non-lethal force to control him.  He was then handcuffed and Seattle Fire was able to treat the cuts to his hands.

The 20 year old suspect was then transported to Harborview to get further medical treatment.  Officers documented the incident and are requesting charges of property damage.
