Fatal motorcycle/vehicle collision in West Seattle

On April 13th, at approximately 9:39 PM, Southwest Precinct officers responded to 911 calls of a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle at 35th Avenue SW and SW Juneau Street.  Witnesses stated that the motorcycle was travelling northbound on 35th Avenue SW at a high rate of speed.  Moments later, the motorcycle collided with a vehicle that was travelling southbound on 35th Avenue SW that was turning left onto SW Juneau Street.  The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained a head injury.  Seattle Fire Department Medics also responded and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.  The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.  Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) responded to the location to process the scene.  The roadway was closed for a time while the scene investigation was being conducted, but has now since reopened.  TCIS will have the responsibility for the follow up investigation.
