On the afternoon of April 20th, a Good Samaritan found a woman’s wallet near a Hotel in the Lake Union area. The Good Samaritan delivered the wallet to the East Precinct. The wallet still contained cash and credits cards and a Washington DC driver’s license. An East Precinct officer googled the name on the driver’s license and learned that the wallet’s owner was a contributing editor for a Washington DC based magazine. The officer called the magazine and spoke with the woman’s assistant. Twenty minutes later, the wallet’s owner called the East Precinct.
She said that she was still in the Seattle area and would come to the precinct to pick up her wallet. The woman said she could not believe the wallet was found with money and credits cards still in it. She then stopped herself and said, “No, only in Seattle would you get your money and credit cards back after losing your wallet”.
