Road rage incident in South Seattle resulted in arrest

On 04-26-2011, at approximately 8:05 a.m., officers responded to Mlk Jr Way South/ South Kenyon Street, to investigate a road rage incident.   Two motorists were involved in a road rage dispute after one or both allegedly cut each other off during a lane change maneuver at Mlk Jr Way and Kenyon. The primary suspect stopped his vehicle, got out and fired one round from his handgun in the air in an attempt to scare the other driver.

A minor collision occurred between the two vehicles as the other driver was fleeing the scene. The suspect allegedly chased the victim from the scene, and reportedly pointed his gun at the victim a second time when the vehicles came to a stop somewhere near MLK Wy S and  S. Cloverdale St. Officers located the shooting suspect and vehicle in an open field west of MLK Jr Way and S. Cloverdale St. The suspect was arrested without incident.

The suspect’s thirteen year old son was in his vehicle during this ordeal and was able to give officers a coherent account of what transpired. Luckily there were no injuries as a result of this incident.

The weapon was recovered on the suspect’s person and placed into evidence. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for Assault.
