On May 11th, at approximately 9:05 PM, South Precinct officers responded to a call of a vehicle that had crashed into a power pole at 28th Avenue South and South Columbian Way. The collision caused a large power outage to the neighborhood. Witnesses called 911 to report that the driver fled from the crash, running northbound. Officers arrived quickly and a K9 was called in to assist with the search. The driver, a 24 year old male, was located hiding in some bushes in the 4300 Block of 28th Avenue South and taken into custody. The suspect was treated at the scene by Seattle Fire for minor injuries received as a result of the collision. The suspect was then transported to HMC , where a blood draw was completed. Seattle City Light crews responded to handle to outage. Power was restored to the neighborhood just before 10 PM.
