On May 14th, just after midnight, West Precinct officers responded to a call of a fight disturbance outside the Seattle Center’s Exhibition Hall, in the 200 Block of Mercer Street. At about the same time, Gang Unit detectives witnessed a large disturbance at the same location. The Exhibition Hall had been the location of an all city dance, and the crowd was just letting out at that time. There were approximately 200 in the crowd, and fights were beginning to break out inside the crowd.
As officers were attemtping to disperse the crowd, they were advised of a stabbing incident that occurred inside the large crowd. A juvenile female reportedly got into a fight with another female, who subsequently stabbed her in the abdomen. Officers were able to locate the victim and summoned Seattle Fire to the location. SFD transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center, where she underwent surgery.
Officers did locate a knife they believe was used in the assault, and that was placed into evidence. At this time, no one is in custody, but detectives are following up on the investigation and are following up on several leads.
