On Friday, June 3rd, members of the Seattle Police Department were on hand at North 145th Street and Aurora Avenue North to receive the torch from Shoreline Police. Seattle Police ran the torch south down Aurora and then south down 5th Avenue, where they handed the torch off to representatives of the King County Sheriff’s Office. The torch will be passed along from jurisdiction to jursidiction, until it reaches the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics of Washington Summer Games at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. It was an honor and a privilege to particpate in the run again this year.
