On 6/20/11, at approximately 1:47 p.m., officers were dispatched to 49 Av S and Lake Washington Bv S to a shooting. Officers arrived and found the victim, a male in his 20’s on the ground with a gunshot wound to the stomach. The victim was treated on scene by Seattle Fire and subsequently transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.
The suspects were described as 4 males, possibly Somalian . After the shooting, suspects fled N/B on Lake Washington BV S in a white sedan. Just prior to the shooting, the victim arrived at the park and suspects arrived moments later. An argument insued between the victim and suspects and shots were fired. The victim was struck once in the stomach.
Officers conducted an area search for the suspects with negative results. Gang unit detectives responded. The scene was processed by a South Precinct Evidence Tech. The investigation continues.
Update** The vehicle the victim was driving is a reported stolen out of Kent. The vehicle was impounded from the scene to the SPD processing room.
