Suspect arrested in last week’s U-District shooting

On June 20th, at approximately 11:00 PM, North Precinct officers responded to a disturbance call at a tavern in the 5600 Block of University Way NE.  The call stated that a man was inside the establishment, threatening to shoot up the place, like he did last week at another bar down the street, if they ejected him.  As officers were enroute to the call, they received a description of the possible suspect and information that he was getting into a cab.  Officers arrived quickly and located a man matching the description about to get into a cab. The man was detained while witnesses were brought by who positively identified the suspect as the one who made the threats.  Officers also contacted witnesses from the business that had the windows shot last week.  They too positively identified the suspect.  The 34 year old male was taken into custody and later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault.
