On July 9th at approximately 2:10 a.m. officers were flagged down by a 39-year-old male victim of an attempted armed robbery near 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the 21-year-old male suspect approached the victim in a bus shelter, placed a knife to the victim’s throat, and searched the victim for his wallet.
The attempted armed robbery was interrupted when an approaching police car caused the suspect to flee the scene on foot.
After a brief area search officers located and apprehended the suspect. The knife was recovered and placed into evidence.
The victim was not injured and none of his property was successfully taken by the suspect.
The suspect was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery and narcotics charges.
