On July 12th, at approximately 6:08 PM, a BMW was travelling northbound on West Marginal Way SW, approaching SW Dawson Street. For reasons unknown at this time, the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree on the east side of West Marginal Way SW. After the collision with the tree, the vehicle rolled over and came to rest on its roof, trapping the male driver.
Seattle Fire and Seattle Police responded to the scene. SFD was able to get the driver out and treat his injuries. The driver was later transported to Harborview Medical Center. The driver’s dog, a 60 pound German Shepard named “Cooper” is believed to have been in the car at the time and ran off after the collision. There have been reports of “Cooper” sightings, but as of early this morning, the dog still had not been located. Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) responded to the location and began their investigation. TCIS will be responsible for this investigation.
