Collision investigation in West Seattle

On July 16th, at approximately 10:14 AM, a Mitsubishi SUV was travelling eastbound on Olson Place Southwest approaching 3rd Avenue Southwest.  The driver, for reasons unknown, lost control of the vehicle and struck a light pole on the south curb of Olson Place SW.  The vehicle struck the pole sideways and wrapped around it.

Police and Seattle Fire responded to the scene.  Both the driver and a passenger were transported to Harborview Medical Center.  The passenger has possible life-threatening injuries.  The driver was evaluated for any signs of alcohol and/or drugs.

Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) responded and conducted their investigation.  This remains an active and on-going investigation.  The roadway was shut down for several hours while the investigation was being conducted, but the road has since reopened.
