Aurora business robbed, suspect captured

On August 3rd, at approximately 6:06 PM, North Precinct officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at a coffee shop in the 13000 Block of Aurora Avenue North.  The call indicated that a white male, in his  thirties, wearing a Seattle Mariners cap and carrying a folded newspaper, robbed the business after gesturing that he had a weapon in his waistband.  The officers arrived quickly and learned from witnesses that the suspect may have entered a nearby sports bar around the corner.  Officers entered the bar and located the suspect inside the bar’s bathroom.  The suspect was detained and placed under arrest after witnesses positively identified him as the suspect.  Officers also recovered the baseball cap and the money inside the bathroom. No weapon was located.   The 29 year old suspect was later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
