On 8-13-11, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded the 1900 block of 1st Ave South to a large disturbance outside a night club, involving gang members.
Witnesses reported one male with a gun running behind the club. He was taken into custody without incident and a handgun recovered. Due to the chaos outside the club, it was decided with the owner’s agreement to shut the club down while there were a large number of officers present.
The patrons were removed from the club and sent on their way as officers patrolled the surrounding streets. There were a few more small disturbances involving the various groups, but no arrests were necessary.
The man with the gun was booked into King County Jail for a weapons violation.
