Man robbed by co-worker

On 08/25/11, at approximately 4:10 p.m., the victim left work and walked toward his bus stop. In the 1700 block of 4th Ave. S. the victim was approached from behind by a male he immediately recognized from work.

The suspect suddenly began striking the victim in the back and side of his head with his fists, knocking the victim to the ground. The victim was semi-conscious from the blows for a few seconds.

The suspect then grabbed the victim’s backpack containing an I-Pod, I-Touch, a wallet, and other personal items, the suspect then ran away. The victim called the police and reported the incident. Detectives were assigned the case and positively identified the suspect through the victim and other employees at the victim and suspect’s place of employment.

The victim said that he had been working with the suspect for approximately 5 months and that he was positive about his identification. The victim showed detectives text messages from the suspect offering to pay him $100.00 to not press charges against him.

On 09/01/11, at approximately 1:05 p.m., detectives located and arrested the suspect at his place of employment at 4th Av S and S. Holgate St. The 30-yr-old suspect was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.
