Shooting victim dropped off at Harborview

On September 2nd at approximately 4:40 p.m. the Harborview Medical Center Emergency Room called 911 to report that an adult male victim had been dropped off at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest.  Patrol officers and Gang Unit detectives responded to the hospital and attempted to interview the 28-year-old victim, who was uncooperative with detectives.

The victim remains under treatment for his non-life-threatening injury.  It has yet to be determined how the victim arrived at the emergency room.

Roughly 20 minutes earlier (at approximately 4:20 p.m.) officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 3800 block of Rainier Avenue South.  No suspects or victims were located in the subsequent area search related to that call.

It is unknown at this time if the two incidents are related.

Gang Unit detectives continue to actively investigate.
