Car into church on Beacon Hill, driver fled

On Ocotber 25th, at approximately 1:50 am, South Precinct officers responded to several 911 calls stating that a vehicle had just driven into a building in the 2100 Block of 14th Avenue South.  Witnesses reported seeing a black male running from the scene.  Officers arrived and located a car inside the structure, unoccupied.  The building is currently being rented out for use as a church, and church elders live above in apartments.  The occupants were evacuated until City officials can determine if the building sustained any major structural damage.  The Seattle Fire Department responded and braced the walls once the vehicle was removed.  The car was towed away with a hold for Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) detectives.  Officers conducted an area search for the driver but did not locate him.  The Red Cross was contacted and made arrangements for temporary housing for the occupants.
