Woman arrested for Fraud, Trafficking in Stolen Property

On November 10th at approximately 1:00 p.m. a search warrant was served on a business in the 5100 block of Rainier Avenue South as part of an on-going, multi-agency investigation.  This investigation is being conducted by the Seattle Police Department’s South Precinct Anti-Crime Team, the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Office of Inspector General.

The investigation revealed that the suspect has been purchasing stolen cigarettes (at 30 cents on the dollar) shoplifted from other retailers in the area and reselling them.  She has also been engaged in the trafficking of stolen food stamp/EBT cards, paying approximately half the face value of the amount on the card in cash.

The 39-year-old female suspect was arrested and booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Trafficking in Stolen Property and Investigation of Fraud.

This remains an active and on-going investigation.
