Man arrested in South Seattle restaurant after fight

On December 28th, at approximately 5:15 pm, South Precinct officers responded to a call of an assault  at a restaurant in the 6700 Block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South.  Witnesses told officers that three Somali males were arguing in the dining area of the restaurant.  One of the men picked up a water glass and threw it at one of the other men seated across the table, striking him in the face.  The glass shattered on impact, and the first victim, age 41,  sustained severe lacerations to his face.  When the glass shattered pieces of it struck the other man, age 45,  seated at the table in his wrist.  Seattle Fire Medics responded and transported the first victim to Harborview Medical Center.  The second victim was also transported to HMC via ambulance.  Although the first victim lost a tremendous amount of blood, both he and the second victim are expected to recover from their injuries.  Officers took the suspect into custody.  The 51 year old suspect was later booked into the King County Jail on Investigation of Assault.  Detectives will handle the follow up investigation.
