SPD honors two men for their acts of bravery

Commendation Ceremony

On January 10th at approximately 1:00 p.m. two men were honored for their acts of bravery during a December 24th, 2011 vicious attack on Seattle Police officer. The officer was working a Seahawks game when he was attacked by the suspect. The officer was knocked to the ground and lost consciousness as the suspect continued to assault him.  Not only did the two men pull the suspect off of the officer but they also held him until other officers arrived. Matthew Rasmussen and Christopher Rice are true heroes.
