Citizen called in suspicious activity- 2 arrested

 

On 1/28/12, at approximately 4:40 p.m., a citizen called 911 to report a suspicious vehicle and 2 suspicious males in the alley behind a house in the 400 block of Broadway Av.

The males were seen entering an unsecured/open apartment building garage.  While officers were responding, the caller updated that the vehicle had just left the alley.  The caller provided a license plate to the stolen vehicle.

East Precinct Bike Officers spotted the vehicle parked in a store parking lot at 12 Av. and E. Jefferson St.  Officers responded and arrested the 2 occupants.   Officers returned to the garage and found a prowled vehicle which was missing a stereo.

The owner was contacted and identified a stereo inside of the stolen vehicle as his.  Other property in the vehicle was taken as evidence.  Both suspects were booked into King County Jail. The driver/suspect a 32-year-old male was booked for Investigation of Auto Theft and the 34-year-old male passenger/suspect was booked for Possession of Stolen Property.
