SPD arrests suspect in Rainier Valley double-shooting

On February 14th shortly after 12:00 Noon, Seattle Police Department (SPD) Gang Unit detectives arrested a 27-year-old male suspect believed to be responsible for the double shooting that occurred on January 26th in the 9100 block of Rainier Avenue South.

SPD Gang detectives developed information during the course of their on-going investigation that led them to the City of Normandy Park.  With the assistance of Normandy Park police officers, SPD Gang detectives placed the suspect under surveillance.  As the suspect was getting into a parked car, Gang detectives moved in and placed him under arrest.

At the scene of the arrest detectives recovered a white Chevy Tahoe that is believed to be the vehicle the suspect fired from on the day of the shooting.  The Tahoe was impounded and taken to the evidence garage for processing.

The 27-year-old male suspect was interviewed by SPD Gang detectives and subsequently booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault (Felony Assault with a firearm).

This remains an active and on-going SPD Gang Unit investigation.
