Officers arrest man with gun on the “Ave”

On February 24th, just before 2:00 am, North Precinct officers responded to 911 calls of a man with a gun in the 4700 Block of University Way NE.  The calls indicated that a suspect was brandishing a handgun after a shoving match/disturbance on the sidewalk outside of a restaurant.  The person who called 911 provided an excellent description of the suspect, and officers located and contacted the suspect quickly.  A loaded .38 semi-automatic handgun was recovered from the suspect’s jacket pocket.  A check of the handgun showed that it was a stolen firearm.  The 19 year old suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Violation of Uniform Firearms  Act (VUFA) and Investigation of Possessing a Stolen Firearm.  There were no reported injuries.  Detectives will follow up on this investigation.
