Residential burglary in South Seattle, suspects arrested

On February 24th, at approximately 11:00 am, a resident in the 4200 Block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South was awakened by the sound of his front door being kicked in.  When he went downstairs, he saw two suspects just entering his home.  The suspects saw the homeowner and immediately fled.  A neighbor heard the door being kicked in, called 911, and provided descriptions of the suspects.

The first responding South Precinct officer saw the suspects a short distance from the house.  As soon as the suspects saw the officer, they fled.  The officer began a foot pursuit.  The two suspects split up and additional officers joined in the foot pursuit, covering about eight blocks in the Rainier Vista neighborhood.  Eventually, both suspects were apprehended and positively identified by witnesses.

The 18 year old male suspect was later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Burglary while the 16 year old male suspect was booked into the Youth Services Center.
