Robbery attempt, victim shot, suspect arrested in North Seattle

On February 25th, at approximately 9:15 pm, an armed suspect entered a store in the 13200 Block of Aurora Avenue North and confronted the manager with a handgun.  The suspect forced the manager toward the back of the store with the intent to open the safe.  There was a struggle between the employee and the suspect, and the suspect’s gun fired, striking the manager.  Another employee was able to call 911, and by the time the suspect and manager made it back to the front of the store, North Precinct and on duty SWAT officers had arrived and were forming contact teams to enter the business.  The adult male suspect was taken into custody, and the injured employee was transported to Harborview Medical Center by the Seattle Fire Department.

SWAT officers then searched the rest of the building to ensure that there were no other suspects or injured people inside.  The rest of the building was cleared and no other suspects or victims were located.  Robbery detectives responded to the location where they began their investigation.  This remains an active and on going robbery investigation.
