Demonstration at City Hall

This information is preliminary and subject to change:

On the afternoon of February 27th a large group of demonstrators marched from Seattle Central Community College to City Hall. The demonstrators entered City Hall and assembled inside the city council’s chambers. After approximately 30 minutes the demonstrators left the chambers and assembled in the lobby of the Mayor’s Office.

Shortly after 6:00 p.m. the building’s property manager advised the demonstrators that City Hall was closed for the day and they needed to leave the building.  The property manager gave two verbal warnings to the assembled group to vacate the premises.

Seattle Police Officers on scene monitoring the demonstration then gave each subject present a verbal warning to vacate the premises, and provided each subject the opportunity to leave.

Ten adult subjects (six males and four females) refused to leave and were arrested for Criminal Trespassing.

The arrestees were transported to the West Precinct for processing and will be booked into the King County Jail for Criminal Trespassing.
