18-year-old assaulted at unpermitted rave party

On 3/11/11, at approximately 4:10 a.m. officers responded to 1st St. and S. Dakota St to a report of an assault. The victim  was attending an unpermitted Rave event under the 1st Ave South Bridge just south of Dakota street. He told officers that there were about 100 other people at this event. Prior to being assaulted the victim thought he saw his ex-girlfriend in the crowd and was approaching her when eight people told him to “come here”.

All eight suspects proceeded to punch and kick the victim repeatedly in the body and head areas until he was able to escape and walk to Andover Street where he called police. Officers contacted the victim at 1st and Andover, and saw that he was bleeding profusely from the mouth and missing several teeth. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Officers responded back to the rave to search for suspects. There were only about 15 people remaining at the location including one of the suspects. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. The victim positively identified the suspect as one of his attackers. The other suspects are outstanding and have not been identified. The 24-year-old suspect was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Assault.
