On March 18th at approximately 2:42 a.m. officers responded to a fight disturbance with a report of a gunshot fired in Kerry Park in the 200 block of West Highland Drive. Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was at Kerry Park with some friends. There was a large group of males also in the park (the suspect was a member of the large group of males). The primary suspect approached the victim, pulled out a pistol and pointed it at the victim’s face. The victim covered his face with his hands. Then several other males from the group began to kick and punch the victim.
The victim was on the ground crawling away from the assault when the primary suspect shot the pistol into the air. The suspect group then fled the area and were gone upon the officers’ arrival on scene. The suspects remain at large.
The victim sustained injury to his head from the suspects’ punches and kicks.
This remains an active and on-going investigation.
