Commercial Vehicle Enforcement today

On March 26th officers from the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Squad (CVES) inspected eight trucks.  The following areas were worked: 

Terminal 18 – 1300 block of SW Florida Street

Terminal 46 – 50 block of  South Atlantic Street 

4500 to 6500 blocks of West Marginal Way SW 

3 trucks were placed Out of Service for:

1 Unsecured Load

1 Air Brake Hose Kinked/Knotted

1 Air Brake Hose Unprotected/Abrasions 

The following violations were documented:

2 Brake Hose, Unprotected/Dragging

2 Brake Hose, Kinked/Knotted

1 Expired Tonnage

1 Registration Required

5 Reflectors Required

1 Unsecured Bumper

1 Steering Reservoir, Leaking

2 Headlight, Improper Mounting

1 Defective Headlight

1 Brakes, Air Leak at connection

1 Windshield Fluid empty

3 Unsecured Load

The documented violations will be forwarded to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and will count as “strikes” against the company, the driver and the carrier.
