On April 19, 2012 at approximately 4:53 p.m., a red Volvo was traveling westbound in the 3800 blk of S Othello St and stopped for a red light. A Green Ford P/U Truck was also traveling westbound on S. Othello St failed to stop and collided with the Volvo. The force of the impact pushed the Volvo into another vehicle causing the air bag to deploy.
Seattle Fire Personnel responded and transported the driver and the passenger of the Volvo. They were transported to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) with significant injuries sustain from the collision.
A Drug Recognition Officer (DRE) responded to the scene to evaluate the driver of the pickup. The DRE officer observed signs of impairment and/or intoxication during his evaluation of the driver of the truck. He was placed under arrest and transported to HMC for further test.
