Shots fired

On 4/22/2012, at 6:32 p.m., 911 received several calls reporting “shots fired” in the area of the 5300 blk of 32 Avenue South. The callers reported that two vehicles were involved in the incident. Officers in the nearby area also heard the shots and arrived in the area as the call was being dispatched.

The officers contacted a witness and obtained the following information: A light blue vehicle, possibly a Honda, was traveling eastbound on S. Dawson Street followed by a tan colored vehicle, possibly an Acura or a Honda Accord. As the vehicles turned southbound on 32 Avenue South, a suspect(s) from the tan vehicle began shooting at the light blue vehicle, shattering the rear window.  Both of the vehicles were last seen southbound on 32 Avenue South. No suspect description available. Officers conducted a public safety search for bullet holes in nearby houses and vehicles. No one was injured.

This incident may be related to another drive-by shooting in the 4800 block of S. Holden St. The Gang Unit is investigating this incident. Detectives do not believe this was a random act.

Involved vehicles- (1) possible tan Acura or Honda Accord. (2) Light blue Honda with shattered back window.
