On May 5th at approximately 11:55 p.m. a blue 2001 Honda CRV occupied my a male driver and one female passenger was travelling southeast on 15th Avenue NE at 130th Place NE. As the driver was exiting a curve in the roadway he drove into a ditch and struck a tree.
SFD medics responded to the scene and transported the 31-year-old female passenger to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of her substantial but non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers evaluated the 32-year-old male driver for signs of being impaired by alcohol and/or drugs. Signs of impairment were detected.
The driver was subsequently processed for suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
He was then booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Vehicular Assault (a felony).
Traffic Collision Investigation Squad detectives responded to the scene and continue to actively investigate.
